Commissioner Staples Visits Hart and talks to students about nutrition.
November 15, 2007(Sandra Azani) — Hart is Honored by the Commissioner of the Texas Department of Agriculture on October 16, 2007.
On October 16th, Hart Elementary was honored with a visit by Mr.Todd Staples. Mr.Staples is the Commissioner of the Texas Department of Agriculture. The TDA celebrated National School Lunch Week by selecting one school across the state to visit.Hart
Elementary was nominated and chosen by Mrs.Nordell Director of Food & Nutrition Service and Mrs.Carleton Supervisor of Food & Nutrition Service to be the school visited by the Commissioner. Representatives from the USDA,TDA,Region 19,and our Superintendent Dr.Garcia,were also in attendance.
Mr. Staples spoke briefly about the benefits of Good Nutrition and the important role that Food & Nutrition Service contribute.
