Welcome to Physical Education class...
I consider myself very fortunate to be your child's P.E. Teacher this school year.

This is my third year teaching at Hart Elementary, but I have taught in the community for 17+ years, since 1999 (Guillen M.S. & Bowie H.S.).
I graduated from UTEP in 1999 with a bachelors degree in Kinesiology.

I look forward to working and teaching your child and assisting them in being successful in this class.

Our Physical Education program is dedicated to provide your students with the following learning opportunities: 

*Establish a positive, safe learning environment for all students 
*Teach a variety of physical activities that make physical education class fun and enjoyable 
*Create maximum opportunities for students of all abilities to be successful 
*Promote student honesty, integrity, and good sportsmanship 
*Facilitate the development and maintenance of physical fitness
*Prepare and encourage students to practice skills and be active for a lifetime  

Rules and Regulations for Physical Education Class: 
*Students are to keep their hands and feet to themselves at all times 
*Respect fellow classmates and the teacher at all times   
*Students are to follow instructions and Coaches’ directions at all times 
*Line up in class lines at the sound of the whistle before and after class 

 

Consequences: 
* Verbal reprimand 
*Time out of class participation 
*Phone call to parents/progress report 
*Conference with parents 
*Send to Principal’s office 

Incentives: 
*Exercise line leader 
*Fitness/Fun Friday leader 
*Good behavior phone call to parents 
*Good conduct certificate 

Severity Clause: 
Students exhibiting any form of severe behavior that endangers students or seriously prevents the teacher from teaching will be referred to the office. 

Proper Attire: All students are encouraged to wear tennis shoes to Physical Education class. Flip flops, sandals, and high heels increase the risk of injury during P.E.. All clothing must be in compliance with the EPISD dress code.  Those students that do not adhere to these rules will get their required exercise by walking during their P.E. time.  Students needing to sit out from P.E. must have a note from the parent. Any student needing to sit out for more than three days must have a doctor’s note.
